Wisdom of God gives eternal life

If you are even a bit spiritually inclined or you have a desire to know God then you must have surely heard of the saying that you should live life like a witness. One should just be a witness to all that is going around us all the time. This is however easier said than done. For as soon as some action happens the thought of its being good or bad, right or wrong arises in the mind. It is very difficult to be just a witness, without being judgmental about things. What then is the meaning of being a witness and how can one reach this state?

In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna reveals that actions from all the bodies are performed by the attributes of nature (doer-power of God), and not by the beings. He further says that when a person perceives no other doer other than the attributes of nature, he knows the God beyond the attributes. He then attains God. This is the actual state of being a witness and in this state one has the realisation that each action happening in the world is done by the doer-power of God. One then does not get involved in these actions or their good-bad nature.

What are the benefits of being a witness and seeing all actions as being performed by the nature and the self (being) as action less?

Lord Krishna says that when a human realises that all actions are of the nature and no one has any control over these, then he sees beyond this world and attains God. And the result of all this is that one becomes free of all worries, sorrows, tensions and even diseases. Then even old age is overcome and one could live on happily in the same body for ever.

This seems too good to be true but this is exactly what has been promised by Lord Krishna in the scripture Bhagavad Gita. But if you find it hard to believe then just listen to what Lord Krishna has to say further. He says that one who becomes a true witness and crosses over the attributes or doer-power of God becomes fit to be God himself. One then becomes God who is unchangeable, imperishable and free of all miseries of life. One then remains happy and joyous each moment, in every circumstance, and then sorrows, diseases, old age and death cannot touch one.

Wouldn’t you like to know more about this amazing process of becoming a true witness? In fact Lord Krishna has suggested a very potent practice through which one can become a true witness and attain the state of God in the same life time. This very practice has been explained in an easy to understand way in the book You Are God written by Shashi Verma.
