Immortality of the soul or the body

The Holy Bible contains the words of God and it says that if a man believes in God he shall have everlasting life. It also says that if a man keeps God’s saying he shall never see death.

In the ancient Indian scripture the Bhagavad Gita too, Lord Krishna says that once a being crosses over the three attributes, he is completely freed from birth, death, old age and sorrow and attains immortality.

Most people who read these scriptures think that God has spoken about the immortality of the soul. That is, when God is known and realised the soul never dies. But Lord Krishna says in the very beginning of the Bhagavad Gita that the soul is imperishable. It never dies but just keeps changing the bodies, just like we discard old clothes and wear new ones.

If the soul is imperishable why would God speak of making it immortal? Could it mean that we have wrongly interpreted the words of God? Could it also mean that if the soul is already immortal, God is speaking about the immortality of the physical form?

It seems unbelievable at first that man can become immortal and live in the same body forever. But this is exactly what Lord Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita, that is, one who crosses over the attributes of nature and attains God’s consciousness is freed from old age and death and attains immortality. In the Bible too the same has been said more than once. At one place it is said that whoever believes in God would not perish but would have eternal life. This proves conclusively that God is hinting that we can become physically immortal.

Disbelieving the words of God is disrespecting God whom we all worship. But you might ask, how is it possible to become immortal?

This too has been explained in detail in the Bhagavad Gita where Lord Krishna puts forward a very secret method of knowing and attaining God through which even the impossible feat of becoming immortal can be achieved. Although this method was there in the Bhagavad Gita it was never understood. It is said that a time comes when God manifests. That time has come and God is manifestin in the form of understanding of His words written in the scriptures.

In the light of this understanding the secret method of attaining God and immortality has been revealed and it has been elucidated in a very simple way in the book You Are God written by Shashi Verma. So if you wish to become free from disease and old age and live on forever in the same body and if you have the faith and belief in the words of God even if they appear out-of-the-world, then log on to the website www.highestwisdom.com
